His father did have the letters written to him but that doesn't mean he automatically assumes copyright just because his father is now deceased. Even his father's claims to the copyrights are shady and not really legal at all. Overall they're just a shady group of people. They are/were great martial artists and fighters but definitely not an honest bunch.
